Joe Neuberger leads Kornitzer Capital Management as President and Chief Executive Officer. A Certified Public Accountant by training, he came to the investment business through the discipline of the audit — where the only acceptable answer is the one supported by the underlying documentation.

That standard shapes how he runs the firm. Every figure a client is shown must be one KCM can substantiate. Every position must belong to an analyst who can defend it. Every relationship should be one the firm would be comfortable having reviewed in public, because the regulatory obligation and the ethical obligation point the same direction.

Joe's conviction is that investing is a lifetime activity. Markets will do what they do; the value of an adviser is measured over decades, in the accumulated effect of good judgment applied consistently and explained honestly. That is the relationship KCM offers, and the one he holds the firm accountable for.

John Kornitzer founded the firm that bears his name in 1989, after a career spent learning that the difference between speculation and investment is the amount of work done before the purchase.

His approach has been consistent for more than three decades: buy businesses rather than tickers, understand them well enough to hold them when the market disagrees, and do the research yourself so that conviction survives contact with volatility. He founded the Buffalo Funds in 1994 to bring that same process to fund investors.

As Chairman he remains the firm's intellectual anchor — the standard against which new analysts learn what a finished piece of research looks like.
